About the Game:

This is a much more fleshed out experience stemming from one of my previous projects.

The catch of this game is to (exaggerate) simulate living with a roommate who turns the lights on all around the house but never remembers to turn them off.

You, struggling to pay the electricity bills, found that communicating with them is no use. As a result, you've ended up in this stop-and-you'll-die infinite loop, chasing after  your roommate around the house and turning the lights off just to keep the bill below your budget.

Play-Test Notes:

After testing out the The Grey Box version, I got a few feedback from play-testers.

  1.  Instead of having the left and right arrow keys for navigating from rooms to rooms, it would be a lot easier to use the A and D keys to do the work.
  2. The game can be learned and practiced over time, and it does gets easier the more you practice. As a consequence, I've edited the score-tracking script and made the game just a little bit more challenging.
  3. I added an visual alert indicator when the player is close to losing the game, to amp up the intensity and the urgency of the game.
